The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey works to provide high quality and efficient transportation in the bistate region. The website also provides useful Traffic Alert information for major truck routes in the bistate region. It also contains a truckers guide that includes vehicular size limitations and tool rates. Operators of convoys and oversize vehicles must arrange for an escort by contacting the communications desk of the bridge or tunnel they plan to use in advance of their trip.

The Port Authority regulates the transportation of hazardous materials, vehicle lengths, widths, heights and weights.  In order to view the usage restrictions at Port Authority crossings and obtain two publications "Traffic Rules and Regulations" and "Hazardous Materials Transportation Regulations at Tunnel and Bridge Facilities" may be downloaded.
